SPREAD THE WORD

Jake Laskey

It was an eventful day for me when someone suddenly called me
"Skinhead-of-the-Year". I was mystified and said, "Where did that
come from?" He said, "It's all over the Internet, with your face,
that you made "Skinhead-of-the-Year". I asked, "From Mississippi?"
"From The Nationalist Movement," he hollered back. I, really, didn't
believe him, so I waited, until later in the day, so I could check my
mail. But, nothing arrived. The next day, however, people were,
still, congratulating me.

"Spread the word," they shouted. Finally, I was handed a printout
with Travis Golie, Jason Henry, Martin Williams, William Minton and
myself. I had no idea and, at first, didn't believe it. Had someone
gotten to the Skinhead Website and put my picture up, trying to fool
me? Could it be real? Still, everywhere I would go, people would pat
me on the back, congratulate me, send their respects and say, "Well
done." I've, even, had people yell and cheer at me from over fences
and through yards.

I am honored, but, also, know that there are others, who are
more-deserving of this privilege of being the "Poster-Skin".
Certainly, I uphold our virtues, morals and pride, as much as
possible, but I am, also, human and slip up, from time to time.
Still, I shall fight for my friends. I will let no one harm our cause.
So, as you see, my blood is most-important to me. I will stand
up for the right and stand against the wrong. I am a Nationalist,
trying to lead the way, turning aside any and all Skinhead "fakes."

I have gotten the Skins around me, already, to begin looking better,
with a positive-attitude and drug-free existence. All of a sudden, I
find myself being the one Skins look to for advice, the one they
seek out when there is a problem with other Skins. It's a lot of
responsibility, but it comes from the heart of those who are
noble in our struggle. I dedicate myself, during the time that I am
"Skinhead-of-the-Year", to bringing about the new Nationalist-era.
I march alongside my comrades, without fear.

The motto of my tenure is "motivation." I encourage my
fellow-Skinheads to run, every other day, if possible, as I do, up to
eight miles. Do two-minute laps, under 7:30-minute miles, then, on
the other days, do burpees and pull-ups, thirty burpees a set, then,
immediately, ten pull-ups, non-stop, up to 400-500 burpees, 150-200
pull-ups. You will see the difference, losing weight, gaining muscle
and drawing compliments. Set a goal. For me, it is to run up to 13-15
miles, under 7-minute miles, non-stop.

I have a great, fifty-six year-old trainer, who is helping me get
into great shape. I will be twenty-eight soon, but won't be young
forever, so let us take advantage of our youth. My trainer calls it
"Skinhead Special-Forces Training". And, we are the soldiers. Let us,
also, conduct classes, as I am doing, and work on band-practice. Just
keep the lyrics positive. And, of course, no facial-hair, goatees or
'staches. I have some tattoos, but I encourage my comrades to avoid
them. Do better, fight harder and do right.

Bet he said that the first time he bent over in front of Dick Barrett .
