DONNELLY ENTICED DOWN DA SILVA SKIDS

Some years ago, Michael DaSilva decided to post messages on a
"pro-white" website operated by Alex Curtis, an unemployed,
California computer-guru. The website featured appeals for
intimidation and murder, which DaSilva, 21, enthusiastically cheered.
The Skinhead-website had been warning against involvement with
Curtis, on the grounds that "conspiracy," RICO and "civil-rights"
charges could be likely. Curtis retaliated with a torrent of
profanity and vituperation against the Skinhead-website, calling it
"liars," "psychos," "mentally-ill" and "a joke." Eventually, DaSilva
was arrested for "conspiracy" and "hate," along with other
website-patrons, pleaded guilty and dropped out of any further
social-activism. To Skinheads, it was not a matter of "ratting out"
someone, but of protecting the integrity and security of their cause.

Once again, the same scenario has popped up. Ciaran Donnelly opted to
post on a "pro-white" website operated by Don Black, an unemployed,
Florida ex-con. Several website-patrons had, already, been jailed for
"hate," "intimidation" and, even, murder and the Skinhead-website had
urged "discretion" in toying with it. Black responded by terming the
Skinhead-website "liars," "demented," "Jewish," "freaks" and "crap."
Donnelly, 25, went on to circulate death-threats and, eventually, to
settle "intimidation" charges against him, agreed to pay a $1,000.00
fine to the "Anti-Racism and Education Society," permanently close
his Internet-account and fold. Neither Curtis nor Black ever warned
patrons of the consequences of their conduct, however, nor suggested
lawful or secure methods of engaging in legitimate and effective
social-activism.

Both Black and Curtis had enticed their patrons by declaring that
they were "Nationalists," but "all that glitters is not gold." Various
Curtis-associates had, also, been taken down, just as several
Donnelly-confederates have been put out of business. What might
have been turned out to be a promising social-reformer wound up a fly,
stuck in a proverbial "Venus-Flytrap." Zach Hale, a Skinhead-website
moderator, said that "I was talking to a guy, who was all about our
cause. But, when I got down to the nitty-gritty with him about it, he
was nothing more than a disturbed youth, who was obsessed with
weapons and killing. I told him that, if he really wanted to support
us, he needed to clean up his act." According to Hale, would-be
activists need to "get a better attitude" and more-positive-venue, in
order to produce momentum.

Hale's website listed numerous precautions. Check to determine if a
website has any legal-protections. If users have been arrested,
jailed and successfully prosecuted, be extremely cautious. See if
there are any disclaimers against lawlessness, as well as any
track-records of ousting patrons, who are reckless or irresponsible.
If a website uses the term "nationalist," but has no connections to
any legitimate nationalist-organization, be wary. If posts become
exceedingly raunchy, violence-instigating or lawlessness-provoking,
exit quickly. Examine the backgrounds of those involved. If they are
not apparent or are unseemly, keep your distance. Hale concludes that
"this is the kind of stuff we will deal with, on a daily basis. Those
who get people put in jail, do not hold to our ideas and encourage
doing stupid stuff need to be proved wrong."
