CONSERVATISM VERSUS FAUX-CONSERVATISM

The term "conservative" has a venerable history and a potent appeal,
but it, also, is susceptible to being misused and, downright, abused.
The "text-book" definition of "conservative" is to "conserve,"
to hold onto something. However, when politics shifts quickly,
"conservative" can connote "going back" to an earlier time, when
unpopular reforms were not entrenched. "Conservative," to
government," is what "back-up" is to a computer. It restores things
to a previous time, either immediately beforehand or, even, way back
into the distant past. Being a "conservative" has been said to stand
against rapid or quixotic change, such as a "strict-constructionist,"
who views a written constitution as a hedge against radical or
experimental legislation.

Sometimes, being a "conservative," just to maintain an older order,
is contra-indicated. For example, the Amish are "conservative," when
it comes to driving. They prefer horses to automobiles. However,
being a "conservative" does not necessarily impart opposition to
"progress." A "conservative" would endorse building a fence along the
Mexican-border, even though there had been none there beforehand,
on the notion that modern-technology might, indeed, shore up a
pre-existing state, when Mexicans were not jumping the border. The
"big-three" pillars of "conservatism" became formidable during the
Sixties, in opposition to what some termed communistic-sway or,
simply, un-American activities. In fact, "conservative" was, to many,
virtually synonymous with "Americanism."

Racial policy, social-policy and government-power policy were the
mainstays of "conservatism." For example, a "conservative" was a
staunch segregationist, who disdained any legislation which would
elevate Negroes over Americans. He was, also, a "traditionalist" on
social-matters, standing against adultery, fornication, bastardy,
miscegenation and "loose-morals," which produced loafers, misfits and
criminals. As such, he was often called a "social-conservative." He,
also, leaned toward an all-powerful central-government, which could
push back some foreign invader as quickly as round up and send back
illegal-aliens. Such things as sending a man to the moon or the Pony
Express to California were considered patriotic and worthwhile tasks
of government.

The lines of "conservatism" began to blur, when "conservatives" had
to choose whether to be "on the outs" or "in." Some argued that they
could do best to "suspend" or "downplay" their real principles and,
thereby, gain political-office, from which they could "quietly" turn
things back their way. Others divorced themselves, entirely, from
what they termed the "rotten" system and would settle for nothing
short of "tossing the bums out," who had wrecked the country. A
case-in-point would be Phyllis Schlafly, who decided to campaign
against the so-called Equal Rights Amendment, which purported to
thrust homosexuals over normal people and men over women. She
called herself a "conservative," with "traditional-family" views, and
she made history.

Schlafly decided to use the Republican Party as her
vehicle-of-choice, oblivious to "someday, you eat the bear, but,
someday, the bear eats you." While she could be as vocal in support,
as well as in criticism, eventually, Schlafly was swallowed up by the
very forces she had fought so long and hard against. In the end, at
eighty-four-years-old, she endorsed a female Vice-Presidential
candidate, who was "head of the home," despite Schlafly's previous
protestations that the man was the head of her own home. She threw a
party for the woman, who could not bring herself to denounce incest,
pre-marital sex, homosexuality, mental-retardation or miscegenation.
With "conservative" falling into disrepair, many began to shift to
calling themselves "Nationalists."

Conservatism

Communism: Combating the Red-plague, with every device possible.
Making alliances, supporting friends and pressuring for the eventual
collapse of "one-world Marxism."

Economics: A strong reliance upon "freedom" and "self-made men,"
with uplifting social and public works, but with decisive curbs on
subsidies, hand-outs and largesse to minorities, aliens and
criminals. Invariably "fiscally responsible."

Ethnicity: Maintaining the "founding stock" of the nation, erecting
barriers against incompatible or darker immigrants and supporting
democracy, strongly based on popular and majority rule.

Family: Maintaining a pure-bloodline, fitness from
congenital-disease, disdaining divorce, having bountiful offspring
and creating conditions where the mother could stay at home to raise
the children.

Military: Generally maintaining an "America First" policy, of strict
neutrality in foreign affairs, avoiding "entangling foreign alliances"
and debilitating support-payments to foreign-governments.
Inculcating strength and honor.

Neighborhood: Encouraging of ethnic-neighborhoods, segregated-schools
and a homogeneous-nation.

Politics: Entrusting government generally to men, maintaining a
patriarchal lineage and outlook and safeguarding the "special-place"
of women.

Religion: Grounded on Christian-principles.

Segregation: The keeping of minorities and aliens out of social and
governmental settings, on religious, moral and constitutional
grounds.

Faux-Conservatism

Communism: Endeavoring to not only "co-exist" with the Red-scourge,
but to trade with communists and, in effect, convey wealth, resources
and technology to the nation's most-avid adversaries.

Economics: Increasing acceptance of loafers, misfits and chiselers,
as a "part" of society, even to the point of "bailing out" the greedy
and dissolute. Unmindful of wasteful-spending and
national-bankruptcy.

Ethnicity: Propagating the very "third-world" elements, which have
spawned backward, parasitic and, even, savage societies elsewhere
and imposing them over the American people.

Family: "Working" mothers, "equality" with men and homosexuals,
sex, gender and alien "diversity" in the workforce, abolition of
privileges and immunities for women and acceptance of "alternative
lifestyles."

Military: Propping up self-serving, adversarial or puppet regimes,
while draining resources and spilling blood needlessly. Torturing
people, committing atrocities and gaining the hatred and hostility of
the entire world.

Neighborhood: Supporting of loans, subsidies and bailouts to bust
ethnic-neighborhoods, integrate schools and fragment the nation.

Politics: Women, especially "feminists," ousting men from not only
government, but from jobs and all positions of authority. Usurping
bread-winners in schools, unions and churches.

Religion: Based on "diversity," ecumenicalism and internationalism.

Segregation: Asserting that "times have changed" and that forcing of
different nationalities and bloodlines together is "established."
