SKINHEADS AND DRUGS
Jake Laskey
There has been considerable publicity, through newspapers, magazines
and television, claiming that Skinheads are on drugs, deal in drugs
or are just some kind of underground drug-cult. In fact, some people,
when you mention "Skinheads," immediately go negative, insisting
that "they are just a bunch of druggies." Asked for proof, they say,
"I saw it on television" or over the Internet. When I fire back how
Skinheads are industrious, self-reliant and advancing our blood, I
am met with disbelief. I wonder why they haven't seen our videos,
rallies and interviews or talked to me?
My next tactic is to explain that there are fakes and frauds among
Skinheads, who are not really Skinheads, but who may be on drugs or
who do other unworthy things. Usually, I am countered by such
sentiments as, "Maybe there are a few Skinheads who are not on drugs,
but most Skinheads are on drugs. I've seen them on television." So,
then, instead of denying that any Skinheads, at all, are on drugs, I
pause and admit that, yes, there are some Skinheads, who are on
drugs, but they hide it. And, then, when they are uncovered, it's a
hell of a thing for our noble cause.
Better than just giving a line, I make my point by reaching into my
own, personal experience. About a year ago, I encountered nasty,
needle-sharing druggies, who were claiming to be "Skinheads." I was
disgusted, disappointed and in disbelief, but, instead of throwing
up my hands, I decided to expunge the miscreants and expel the
riff-raff. It took strength to see such a project through, but I decided
to lead by example. I would keep saying that our blood is pure and
we must keep it that way. Could ideas succeed against mental and
physical addiction? I took the lead and it paid off.
Skinheads around me have become positive examples. Others look at us
with admiration for having cleaned up our own. My judgment, voice and
call have been respected. The challenge I hurled at those very few,
who use drugs but claim to be "Skinheads," was to demand that they
be ready for the battles of tomorrow. They had to either quit drugs or
quit trying to be "Skinheads." So, now, our only "addiction" is to
working out, living healthy and getting stronger. Winning even the
smallest battle helps set the record straight and boosts our blood
and people.
